For the first time ever the AIAAA will be hosting a Female Athletic Director Professional Development Day on June 4, 2012 in Red Deer, Alberta. The day will feature the launch of a brand new LTC course (705C: Coach Centered Educational Athletics - A Character Based Coach-to-Coach Mentoring Program), a luncheon, keynote address from Laurie Eisler (U of A Pandas Volleyball Coach), healthy living activity and several breakout sessions.

This leadership event for Female Athletic Directors is a sponsored project of the InMotion Network with funding provided by the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation and Heritage Canada.
The AIAAA will be offering two courses (608C and 506C) and a free AD luncheon for course attendees on Thursday May 3, 2012 in conjunction with the HPEC Pre-Conference.

In October, 2011 after two years of planning, the ASAA launched Canada’s first online coach education initiative for school sport coaches. The feedback from course participants to date has been outstanding. With four courses currently available online, one of which is free (Concussions), all Athletic Directors are strongly encouraged to become familiar with this program. In May, a new Athletic Injury management Course will be launched and a tobacco reduction/cessation course for students will be available in July.
With the ASAA Executive agreeing to support one $50 rebate (almost 60% off the $85 course cost) for each ASAA member school, at a cost of over $18,000 and funded by Rural Alberta Development Fund and Cenovus Energy, you are encouraged to get on board with this great program as soon as possible.
